Adeline's 1st Timeout
Well, it's official. Adeline has a mind of her own & she definitely knows that she is choosing to not listen to us. You can see it all over her face. She even kind of smiles. Today she wouldn't sit down at the table and I kept tellling her over and over & sitting her down. Finally I got face to face with her and very firmly said "sit down". She stuck her tongue out and blew at me!! I said that's it, time out. It took everything we had (all of us) not to laugh. She sat in time out and cried for one minute, so I assume she's old enough. She stayed there & she knew she was in trouble, so I say success! Poor thing, there will be many more to come!
Spring Soccer Has Begun
We had our first soccer practice today. Baylor was really excited. So was Adam. He decided to coach this season & already had great fans the very first practice. I overheard one mom say "I love this coach!" So, I guess it was a success. Our first game is April 9th. Pictures to come soon!

The Big High School Alumni Game
If you haven't heard, there's a big alumni football game going on in our home town. Hamshire-Fannett vs Hardin Jefferson. The boys (the old boys, ages 20-50) are suiting up in pads and playing another game! It's going to be so fun. Adam has signed up & has been getting more and more excited about it. He has changed his workout routine up a bit to include old exercises that will get him ready to play again! It's hilarious! I can't wait to be a spectator. There will be lots of pictures to post.
10!!!
We realized last night that Adeline can say ten! They must count at Mamu's house because Baylor & I were reading and the book had a counting part. We counted together "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9...", and Adeline yelled "ten! Yay!" and then started clapping for herself. It was very funny, so we practiced that a couple of more times.

Baylor's Latest
After Baylor's bone marrow biopsy last November where everything pretty much looked the same, his fabulous hematologist wanted us to check blood counts again in February. We checked his blood last week and she called us yesterday. Most everything looks like it's still holding steady. Adam and I feel like we're becoming experts at reading these blood count numbers!! We had almost the whole report figured out before his doctor called us! He will repeat the blood count test again next month and then possibly have another bone marrow biopsy in April. Holding steady is always good news! God has blessed us with all of the extremely smart doctors who are experts in their field. We are so lucky to have the doctor we have at Texas Children's!

Adeline's Blanky Is Lost
It just disappeared!! In my possession, of course, but it was not because of my usual forgetfulness. It really just disappeared. Adam dropped her off to me at school & shoved the blanket in her bag (for sure, we both remember this), then her and I walked straight into the computer lab. No one at my school found a blanket or saw a blanket. No one turned one in that had maybe fallen in the parking lot! What's up with that? Would someone really steal a baby blanket (a very EXPENSIVE baby blanket, I might add)?
Sooo, I do not have the money to replace the blanket this month & luckily the company makes much cheaper, smaller, lovey blanket sizes. Still though, I had to order it online & pay $28 extra dollars for next day shipping so it would get here tomorrow!! Out of the 2 baby boutiques here in town that sold these blankets, one is now closed & the other switched their blanket brand. Today was very frustrating! And nap & bedtime have been hard!!
That girl better be thrilled when the new blanket arrives tomorrow! oh, what we do for kids!

My Hubby Loves Me
I've said it before but I have to say it again. You can have all of your roses and fancy dinners (although I do adore them AJ). I know my husband loves me when I'm halfway to school, realize I forgot my ___(insert obvious object here like purse, laptop, lunch) and then realize that my hubby had already put it in the truck for me. I'm telling you it happens a couple of times a week!
Before you know it, it'll be kids I'm forgetting. Hopefully he'll remember to put them in the car for me too!

New Words
Adeline has lots of new vocabulary from Thanksgiving to now. Her favorites are "sit down" and "eat", which she lots of times puts together to make a semi-sentence, "I sit down, I eat"!! Ha!
She tells us quite a bit to sit down. I hear her yelling at Baylor "Bayuh sit down (and then pats the floor or chair). It's very cute! She also learned to climb in this big chair with Baylor repeating over and over, "I sit down, I sit down".

Baylor's Birthday Month
Seriously, I mean month. It started with birthday cards in the mail. On the 11th we had his birthday dinner. Baylor loves seafood, and, in our world of fighting with him to eat EVERYTHING, I actually wish we could afford to eat seafood every day because he just eats and eats and eats! And not fried seafood, just good old healthy stuff! Of course, he always chooses seafood for his birthday dinner so we went to Pappas Seafood where Baylor ordered an adult Hudson Platter that consisted of 2 lobster, 6 scallops, and 3 bacon wrapped shrimp. He polished off every bit, not to mention the calamari appetizer. Then the following weekend we had a small family birthday party. In the meantime, more birthday cards came in the mail. He also had cupcakes at school for his class. Then this past weekend, he chose 4 friends to spend the day out in Kemah. It was a great party. We had a sitter for Adeline, so Adam & I pretty much just relaxed while the boys rode all the rides they could! And more cards came in the mail!! Thank you to everyone who came to either party bearing gifts, and, of course, all of those who sent cards in the mail!
We can't believe Baylor is 9! I keep telling him he's halfway to adulthood! We've been blessed 9 years in a row.

12:00 am Bed Party
Now, let's remember our kids do not wake up in the night ever (unless they're sick). And they won't sleep with us either. Baylor never would even we asked! But they BOTH woke up on this Wednesday night at midnight. It's such a rare occurrence and they are both in such great moods that we're having a little bed party! Adeline thinks it's morning and keeps saying 'eat' and 'teeth' (because she's totally preoccupied this month with teeth brushing). I hope they go back to bed!

Blessed Life
I was telling Perky the other night that with all the stories of dismay we hear (sick friends, troubled children, broken marriages), I feel a little guilty for feeling so blessed. Of course, I think we're in the decade of our lives that tend to be the happiest for everyone I know. That time when you're still newly married and your children are small and everything is bliss. My kids are funny and wonderful, we get to travel, we're secure in our jobs, and Adam & I love each otherly greatly still. And furthermore, love being around each other. I know our time will come. There will be troubles. But for now, I have no complaints. So, although I wish I could freeze time today, I pray, instead, that we can take the troubles that come with this feeling in our hearts.

Bone Marrow Biopsy Results
We got the results back from Baylor's Bone Marrow from a couple of weeks ago. His super doctor hematologist called Adam today. Super Doctor for a couple of reasons...she knows everything about everything, she finds all kinds of free things for us that we never knew existed (like free cord blood storage for siblings of Baylor), SHE called today not her nurse or assistant, and last (& I think most importantly)she gave us her direct phone number! Direct meaning she answers the phone with 'hello'!!
Good news, no change. By no change, I mean his cell production in his bone marrow hasn't gotten worse. He has been in the lowest level of cell production for a couple of years now, but he just continues to hold steady. God has a plan!
